On Monday last week, Reign started nesting and having contractions.. Then..she stopped. Together, we spend a lot of time hanging out together and waiting....and waiting... I was so thankful that Todd had updated and installed our camara one evening so at least I could go to work and watch for any more signs of labor. She was just content to make us wait.......ALL WEEK!!!! She started true labor around 11:30 am on Saturday morning and had her first puppy at Noon. A gorgeous curly black male. After that, we were off! This girl knows how to deliver a litter of pups....7 puppies in 3 hours. We cleaned up. Fed her. Changed to clean bedding...and suddenly --Number 8 appeared! Our first night was quiet and calm. She kept them fed, was feeling good and I checked on them about every 2 hours. All was great. Sunday morning, she started with the WORST diarrhea you can imagine. We gave her Pepto, Canned Dog food and some pumpkin. Every half hour she went out, we have her more watered down canned dog food. We were so worried that she was going to dehydrate. On Monday morning, I called my Savior Dr. Bohl. He got some meds for us right away, she immediately felt better and the worry was over. The next few days, all the pups were eating great and gaining weigh at a steady pace!! Yeah!! My biggest problem, was getting anything else done...since I just loved watching and hanging out with them!!! Then....I noticed a hard spot --the evil Mastitis had appeared.... Friday night we just kept a close eye on the spot and made sure that a puppy was always nursing so that the duct didnt get infected and she didnt get worse. Saturday she was ok until about noon then she got a fever, a HOT udder and we called Doc again. He has us come and get something for her fever and said to keep cold compresses on there. I proceeded to treat her through the night and into Sunday morning. With the help of the meds, probiotics, cold compresses and me and the pups massaging her...we made it!! Although we are still very closely watching her to make sure that all of the "spouts" get nursed out every time she feeds, we are on the home stretch. The infection is gone and the pups are gaining weight and happy and our "Reign"ing Queen is safe and healthy! There are several pups available is this litter. Please message us for more information or to reserve your Doode!! Gotta go, the Queen and her Subjects are calling!! Peace Out, Sherry

Just a quick video of the pigs playing!!.. and Dogs barking, of course. Well ..it's no surprise that our girl ended up in the ER. She has had a lust for socks, wash clothes, towels, any and ALL fabric items that she can find. She knows that we will take them so when she gets them and sees us coming..she swallows or tries to swallow whatever treasure she has found. Todd and I have this house locked down like Fort Knox, and yet she managed to get away with one..it was lodged in her intestine and needed Emergency Surgery to remove. Here is what that little treasure cost us... As you can see, we do have insurance for her..and as I just noticed, her name is spelled wrong!!! The deductible is high and there is a $5000.00 cap so we will end up paying a large portion of it. Nothing like sitting in the vet office and having them ask you if you want to go into years of debt or let your dog die. I wouldnt wish that on anyone. We just got our tribute wall completed with photos of Cody, Duke, Hank and Macey with their urns and collars. As I was sitting there, I was picturing Storm's photo on the wall too and I just couldnt bring myself to let that happen. I guess my free weekends will now be spent working more shifts at the Willow to get this bill paid off! I am so grateful to my current manager at my full time job so that I can stay home and work remotely for a few days and take care of Storm. She is still quite sick from the meds and stress so she is going out about every hour so she doesnt have an accident in the house. There is nothing easy or fun about any of this. The stress, time, money and fear of her future health have been really hard on us. We have in idea of where she nabbed this sock from and so we're making sure to keep her out of the laundry room, even when we are in there and the clean laundry baskets immediately emptied and put away. But, knowing how determined she is, there is no guarantee that it wont happen again. Which is very scary. Gotta go let the lady outside! Peace Out... Sherry Macey has a ticket on the 5:00pm Rainbow Express. Im typing this now so that I can get through it with her by me instead of while I am missing her. Since her diagnosis 2 years ago, she has been on 4 meds and some cardiac dog food to keep her Chronic Heart Failure at bay. Even covered in peanut butter or with my extra add-ins like homemade yogurt, eggs, blueberries and her all time FAV--Zucchini, she hated it. I know that her brothers Duke and Hank will meet her on the other side and they will all be together again. Macey and Duke were always together before his went on his Rainbow journey. Im hopeful that they are able to be together again. I know that the story of how we came to get Macey is on an older post but I love telling it so here goes: My hometown has a radio show on KDOM that is called the Swap Line, you call and say Ive got some old tires to give away, I'll trade for some canning jars...Stuff like that. Well one morning I was in town and my Dad called me from work and said call this number and see if the dog they are giving away is our neighbors. If it is, tell them you will take it and we will help it find a better home..(they kept it tied up) I called, it wasnt the neighbors but it haunted me the 3 1/2 hour drive home so when I got home, I asked Todd and Emma what they thought about it. We decided she was going to move to Wisconsin!! I called my mom, now being back in Wisconsin, asked HER to go visit the dog but I had ONE rule --If the dog jumps on you--Dont take it. She went, the dog jumped on her, she took it!! My mom is smart! Now to get Macey back to Wisconsin. My Mom brought her to Todd's Mom, Todd's Mom brought her 75 miles away to my Sister, my Sister's Husband drove her to Wisconsin to a meeting he was going to and I picked her up there. Drove an hour and she was FINALLY HOME!!! My dream of having a Golden Retriever literally fell into my lap. We were so very happy to have her and she needed a new home, due to a divorce and a new girlfriend who didnt like her. We were HAPPY to accept the challenge of training and teaching her about her new home!! Soon after she arrived, we decided to try a litter of Goldendoodles. We had Hank our Labradoodle at this time, he shed a lot and we like the Goldendoodle better for a family dog. Macey had her first litter about a year after we brought her home and she has been involved in the raising, training, protecting, nurturing and mothering of every single puppy that we have had here. There is not a single puppy that has left here that Macey has not influenced the behavior of in a positive way. What she gave to each of our puppies as far as socialization can not be replicated. She is a true Matriarch in our Pack! Macey has been a friend and companion to us since the day she came home.
She is Todd's partner and sidekick. If he is doing a project or chores, she is always right by his side or seeking shade under the 4-wheeler or nearby. She has a tender heart and seems to know when we are down and need her by our side. She has never let us down. She had several litters of beautiful puppies for us. She welcomed our new dogs when they came here. She is our companion and friend. She is kind around our family and friends. She is always on the sideline, here for us when we call. She will be missed and her memory Cherished forever. Please enjoy the photos below of Macey with our puppies and our family. Peace Out! Sherry All of our little Doodes have a home and are doing great!! The Puppy Palace is officially back to being a "shed", the gates, pens and toys have all been scrubbed clean and packed away for our next Doodle Adventure!! Im looking back on our photos from the past 10 weeks and I can not believe that so much was crammed into such a short amount of time! I also cant believe how fast it all went. There was defiantly some very stressful times added in there too...... Three days after the puppies were born, Emma and Todd left for the Philippines! Emma was going for a month to deliver babies and Todd escorted her to make sure it was all "legit" and snuck in a vacation too. On Mother's Day, My Mom came and stayed with us for a few days. We had to go take a little Stillwater Stroll and see the river..which was still flooded from all of the snow we had last winter. Back in the CB communication days, her "handle" was Amoco Annie ..so of course we couldnt pass up this photo!! This was the first litter in many years that was not all homed either before they were born or soon after. We decided not to keep our Pick of the Litter due to Emma moving around so much in her last year of Medical School. I know I want to be able to go see her, and leaving our adult dogs is difficult, a puppy is nearly impossible.. and of course the now famous Seven! We were so thankful for all the post sharing and interactions that helped Seven and Blue find their Forever Homes! They and all of their littermates are in the BEST homes and are definitely going to have a great life!! Thank you for all your support and for giving us and our puppies a place in your home and heart!.
Peace Out! Sherry Reign has been a super mom to her litter of F1b Standard Goldendoodles!! She has been calm, content and so great. I am really proud of her. She is also....... TOTALLY OVER IT!! Yup, the Puppymoon is over and she is ready to get back to her normal life out of the whelping box. So are the puppies. They are getting big and need more space! We are going to be moving them to the big Puppy Palace this weekend. Now the real work ..........Oh, I mean FUN...begins!! We go from feeding a sweet little nugget a sip of Goat Milk. Major chow down !! We still have a few pups available from this litter. Please send in a contact form if you want more information.
Peace Out Sherry Reign Delivered...... oh boy did she ever deliver the Goods!! Reign had 9 beautiful puppies on Thursday April 27th. We have 5 male and 4 female puppies. There are both merle and black with markings. The black pups are going to fade to a blue/grey color. Enjoy their journey on our YouTube channel!!
Please contact us to add one of these elite puppies to your family! Pease Out! Sherry Those of you who know me and have been following us know that we have had several attempts at having our own litter of Bernedoodles but it was not in the cards. This week I was scrolling on a website during my lunch hour and a puppy came up that grabbed my attention............Orange String Female....... Orange String Female was 7 months old. She has beautiful markings. Her parents are both OFA certified and have top pedigree. She has been playing with her littermates on a farm learning to be a great family pet. She had a killer smile.........and captured my heart. We might not have the same hesitations and discussions as some families when it comes to adding a dog to our "Pack" but we definitely have a HUGE conversation. Can we spend the money? Is the breeder reputable and trustworthy? Do we want the chaos of a puppy? Are we ready for training? Will Nala get along with her? Will Todd still like Sherry once she gets here? Well friends............... Here comes the "Storm" so we will know the reality soon enough!! Welcome to the "Pack" my dear girl. Cant wait for you to come home. Peace out!
Sherry I Hate Waiting!!!! There isnt really a quote that I can find that makes it better or easier. If I eat healthy for a day, I want to reach my goal weight. If I am going on a vacation, I want to leave now. If I am ready for a litter of puppies, I want them NOW ALREADY!!!!!! "Of all the hardships a person had to face, none was more punishing that they simple act of waiting" " A watched pot never boils" "Always Late but worth the Wait" "Good things come to those who Wait" "Wait for it..................." "Paience is learned through waiting." "Worth the wait" We have been doing a lot of waiting in the last year. Waiting for our dogs to go into heat. Waiting for their prime breeding days. Waiting to see if they are pregnant....just to find out that they were not. Although I still would really love to raise a litter of Bernedoodles, we are putting that on hold and going back to what we know--- Standard Goldendoodles. I wish that the dogs were born with a gauge so we could know when they cycles were going to begin....Did you know that it is only every 6-9 months? Reign was 2 in July and has only had 1 heat cycle. The cycle begins with spotting and they will accept a male dog after about the 11th day. They are fertile for about 48 hours around day 11-14. We get progesterone tests done at the vet so that we can best determine the optimal breeding day. Since we dont own our studs, there is a lot of planning involved. MOST of my vacation days are used traveling to studs and caring for our puppies!! As ridiculous as it is....I have a light colored blanket in the pen that Reign sleeps in. Every morning, I hope to see some spotting. It's like in ancient days when the servants ran in to see if the queen was ready to produce an heir or not. Nala isnt getting any younger so we are anxious for her to have an another litter. She is always the best mom and has amazing temperament puppies. She has had litters from 3 different sires and they all have been perfect. The plan for her is to be bred to a Golden Retriever that we found on a Dog Dating site! YES...even dogs are internet dating these days. We have heard from many people who are interested in the Reign puppies and once I post information about Nala's litter, I expect that will be well received also. I know that people have moved on and found a puppy elsewhere, which I probably would have done too but, I know that once we do get a litter on the way...They will be awesome!! We have had over 1 1/2 years off so Todd and I are Puppy Ready and can not wait to be back to raising some superior Goldendoodles for some very lucky families. Reign and Nala playing in the Snow Macey, Reign, Nala and Leighla waiting for Todd to give them a treat Until next time. Peace Out, Sherry |
